Weekend Update

1. This weekend, sharing a pair of sunglasses I have been wanting, from Celine.

Ugh I like these quite a lot. And even more since (I say this proudly) seeing them over and over on Meredith Marks, of the RHOSLC, or what I consider the premier Real Housewives franchise right now (am so looking forward to the finale). I love the shape and actually the cream color but I guess for a pair this expensive I’d probably try for a more versatile shade? Not sure.

2. Speaking of housewives- I meant to post this a while back (and am aware I’ve been remiss in posting – my apologies!) about the Real Housewives reckoning, via Vanity Fair.

3. I thought this was an interesting discussion, via the NYT, about how high luxury prices can be justified. I really felt this! I don’t even look at clothes anymore really…the prices are absurd, especially for any outerwear. And everything, really!

4. Sharing this piece, via the NYT, about matching couples watches. I like this concept, although I am missing a) a husband who likes wearing watches, and b) hundreds of thousands $$$ to spend on matching watches.

5. This week, I read The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake, by Aimee Bender.

This surprised me! I thought it was going to be rather light, perhaps a little predictable, but it really wasn’t – it reminded me in vibes (but not storyline) to The Time Traveler’s Wife. If you’re looking for a literary read that is beautifully written and a little strange, I highly recommend The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake.
