1. This week, sharing a useful little jacket, from Acne, on sale.
Honestly lately I have no idea how to shop sale season. I don’t really do it much anymore because it’s all to much and the prices are high and etc. I’ve found that when I do it’s best to choose simple items I’ll wear a lot with an interesting detail – hence the jacket above, which I think is one of those casual items that’ll go with a ton. HOWEVER I also really like this cool asymmetric bag!
2. An interesting piece, via the NYT, about the online backlash to a recent influencer trip for Shein.
3. Sharing this piece, via the NYT, about the significance of a Gucci duffel bag at Wimbledon.
4. A nice, gossipy piece, via Vanity Fair, about the battle between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for Miraval, their wine brand.
5. This week, I re-read The Handmaids Tale, by Margaret Atwood.
Sometimes, you know, you try a lot of books and none are really hitting the spot! That’s been happening to me lately and so I decided to turn back to a classic and wow, I forgot just how amazing this book is. I mean, I knew it would be good, I remember loving it, but re-reading it I recall all the reasons why. A masterpiece and I would highly recommend re-reading a favorite if you’re in a rut like I am! And really, you can’t go wrong with The Handmaids Tale.

July 7, 2023 at 1:09 pmHaving followed your blog for many years (and enjoyed your books) I have observed a kern shift from writing about ‘ luxury’ and shopping in general towards more mindful consumption. Still as a fellow Hermes lover would love to know if you still use your Kelly’s ! Do share your current views on the Hermes frenzy😃

July 8, 2023 at 9:44 pmI’m re-reading war and peace. It’s won me over from all the summer fun I could have had otherwise, but no regrets. Power of a great book!
