Sale PSA: Black Chelsea boots from Madewell, now under $100 with code LETSGO, this crochet Etro sweater, now 50% off (I really like this and would be tempted at 70%), and a bunch of Ray Bans on temporary discount.
Hi! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s celebration. I wanted to share today an article which I loved so much I decided to dedicate an entire post to it. It’s from Vogue, which I am sorry to say (as I LOVED the magazine so much growing up, read through every issue) I’ve had more and more trouble finding interesting articles in…well it’s not just Vogue but pretty much every American style magazine to be honest. And I know it’s not the fault of the writers (as I will always love all writers) and not even the industry or the management but just a general direction of the industry and attention spans and willingness of the public to pay for journalism…but anyway, that’s a post for another time.
Because today! I just want to talk about this article, about what sold in 2022. I really loved this piece by Mark Holgate. Wow! It was just so informative and interesting….and it kept going on, which was extra good. There was so much information. I loved reading about all the different stores and the personalities and the observations they made based on the moment. Some of my thoughts on what sold:
Skin: I didn’t really follow this myself but I don’t know if it’s my age. In fact I went through and tossed all my old bikinis, it’s one piece all the way for me. And I bought all my items a size bigger, just to be comfortable. Maybe I’ll try a little in 2023.
Dresses: I’ve always loved dresses but actually this year I added more pants! Lots of fun larger pants and then towards the end I got tired and added some slim silhouettes again.
Jewelry: I bought little bits but actually more light/easy pieces that were less expensive.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the piece, and the trends of what you bought in 2022! Next I’d like to talk about 2023…but that’s for another time.
And by the way, if you liked the article as much as I did, he did one in 2021 too.
Have a wonderful 2023!!

January 6, 2023 at 10:28 amThat pretty “crochet” Etro sweater is actually knitted. It’s a different craft. Not sure why they don’t know how their sweaters are made.
