Weekend Update

First: thank you for reading along this year! I feel so fortunate to have such smart, kind people reading this site. Thank you and I wish you all a great new year’s celebration (I will be in pajamas unless struck by last minute insanity).

Okay, moving on:

1. This week, sharing this fun alpaca scarf, on sale, from COS.

I don’t know why this is in the men’s section (it should be at least unisex). I love the orange color which I think is both bright and easy to pair with neutrals. A lovely way to add some warmth! PS: I also like this bright green.

2. A somewhat disturbing article, via The Cut, on buccal fat removal. Well I guess not disturbing but this is just such a new concept to me. I feel I’m always behind as to whether we are putting fat IN or OUT of things.

3. I liked this feature, via the NYT, on Trinny Woodall. I follow her a little on IG and think she has interesting tips and tricks! It was only through this piece that I realized she was with Charles Saatchi (and then I looked that up and found all the gossipy Daily Mail articles.

4. Another fun little article, via the NYT, about the trend of watches made for a sense of humor.

5. This week, I read Demon Copperhead, by Barbara Kingsolver.

This was great! I have to admit it took me awhile to get used to the language – there’s definitely a strong voice component. But it’s David Copperfield in present day, what more needs to be said? It’s such an interesting pairing. If you are looking for your next literary fiction read, and especially if you’ve ever enjoyed classic Dickens, I highly recommend Demon Copperhead.
