Weekend Update

Sale PSA: The small blue “Tangle” bag from Jil Sander, now under $500, a chainmail bag from Paco Rabanne, now 30% off, and this great blue fleece from Everlane, now $62 (I’d buy it a size or two larger),

1. This week, sharing a bag I discovered via the Vogue article below, the Banana Republic Vida bag.

This is a really nice bag! I can see why it’s popular – I love the strap, the adjustable nature of it, the suede covered lock, etc. It reminds me of Coach a little. And of course it is excluded from promotion. I have long eyed the Khaite Lotus bag but just can’t make the commitment but this might be a good option.

2 A TOTAL puff piece which I nonetheless enjoyed, via Town and Country, on Charlotte Casiraghi, who I have always found so beautiful.

3. A piece via Vogue which I thoroughly enjoyed, on the power of anonymous bags. I haven’t enjoyed an article from Vogue in a while (anyone else)? So it’s nice to discover this. It’s how I found the BR bag, above!

4. I always like pieces on jewelry, and thus enjoyed this NYT piece on minimalist versus maximalist jewelry.

5. This week, I read Pet Sematary, by Stephen King.

I read this because I asked a friend of mine, a fan of King’s, what he thought his scariest book was. He said Pet Sematary and so I got it. And yes it is scary but honestly it wasn’t that scary to me – not as bad as his other stuff. But of course, quite deranged and disturbing. It was a good read, and if anyone is looking for a nice scary thriller/horror, I highly recommend Pet Sematary.
