Sale PSA: A very cute oval jewelry box from Monica Vinader, now 30% off, patent brogues from Iris and Ink, now $200, and an adorable alpaca beanie from Everlane, now 25% off (today only).
1. This week, sharing this fun sherpa vest from J.Crew.
Is it upsetting to me that this is not on sale while so much on the site currently is? Why yes, but that’s been the pattern with J.Crew lately! I like the navy so much and think it looks like such a rich layering piece. Kind of a J.Crew with some COS influence. Anyway, will be adding to my sale wishlist.
2. I thought this piece from The Cut was interesting, about a reader regretting letting her dad pay for her wedding.
3. A good piece, via Vanessa Friedman via the NYT, on whether a perfect blazer exists.
4. I thought this long feature, via Vanity Fair, on the life and death of Ivana Trump was really interesting. This is the kind of article I’ve always liked from VF – I wish they had more! To be honest, I struggle to find content these days.
5. This week I read The Rabbit Hutch, by Tess Gunty (which also just won the National Book Award!)
OK so I wrote this blurb/description before I knew it was a big award winner. I’m going to keep my comments as they were, which was: I liked this a lot! But I would say it’s a more literary read, and takes place over a day in an apartment buildings. There’s a lot of characters, and it’s sort of a sprawling work. Beautiful language. If you’re looking for a literary, smart, and yes touching and devastating read, I’d recommend The Rabbit Hutch.

November 18, 2022 at 9:35 amKat, I was just thinking how much I miss your interview series. I’m sure they are time intensive and, with two young children, I’m sure your time is very limited. Just letting you know that I always enjoyed them, and may go back and reread some of them soon. Thank you for continuing with your blog.
