Sale PSA: A chic distressed cashmere sweater from Autumn Cashmere, now $70, a cozy fleece jacket from Madewell, now up to 30% off with code GOSPREE, and a ton of Ray-Bans are currently 25% off (this used to happen all the time but I feel is more rare now).
1. This week, sharing this nylon bag from The Row.
Yes I know the price is not good for nylon (!!). But I wear my tan version alllll the time and it’s such a useful bag. I think in Navy this would be so easy to wear and it’s light. And there’s just something perfect about the styling.
But if you want an affordable version (I mean who doesn’t) this one is WAY less, from Uniqlo.
2. I thought this piece, via the NYT, was interesting, about how to sell an art piece you’ve gotten sick of.
3. I also liked this NYT piece about the popularity of the Birkenstock Boston. This made me re-interested in them, haha. I flirt with buying these every year.
4. I liked this interview, via The Cut, with Anna Gray. She’s very chic!
5. This week I’m reading The Odyssey, by Homer, and translated by Emily Wilson.
I’ll be honest – a friend recommended this to me, after I said I’d just read Song of Achilles, and I thought this would be in a novel format, so that I could read it easily and then sound smart in conversations. But no! It is a real translation! It is a poem! The language is gorgeous and I’m enjoying going through it slowly. If you are a Green literature-phile, I highly recommend The Odyssey.

October 14, 2022 at 2:53 pmI love The Row banana bag! I have it in black leather and wear it constantly, and now I’m really tempted by this nylon version.

October 18, 2022 at 12:10 pmGet the clogs! But not for $300, heck, not even for over $100. Mine are like 3 years old, and they still go strong. Eyeing the oiled leather ones as a Christmas gift.

October 22, 2022 at 4:10 pmWilson’s translation is so readable, isn’t it? I started it ages ago but was mentally sidetracked by the pandemic and haven’t been able to sit down with it since.
