Sale PSA: Elegant mules from The Row, now 50% off, pretty strappy sandals from Everlane, now $120, and the cozy Barefoot Dreams blanket (I actually did not realize it was Anniversary sale…whoa!) now $100.
1. This week, sharing these great and practical sandals from Teva.
I know I said no more Tevas but I am sharing these for anyone else who is looking! I love how these look and they are good in water and have arch support. perfect. The only issue for me is that I like to kick off my shoes easily and these require a tiny bit more effort – but they look so nice! I love them. I’ll get these when my existing Tevas wear out, which is likely never.
2. A fun little piece, via Vogue UK, about Kate Moss’s collaboration with Diet Coke. It’s basically almost advertising (what do they call it, an advertorial?) but I love Kate Moss so will consume almost anything that has even a brief snippet of an interview with her.
3. I liked this piece, via the NYT, on how to style a coffee table. Mine has a ton Legos on it, and I’m not making a mom joke or anything – I think in the last 3 years it has had Legos on it every single day. One day I will get to “style” a table!
4. I thought this piece, via Harpers Bazaar, on what 8 women bought on their 40th birthday was fun to read.
5. This week, I read Last Night By The Lobster, by Stewart O’Nan.
I really enjoyed this! It was recommended by a bookseller (who, in full disclosure, described it as the opposite of Where the Crawdad Sings). Which I took to mean that it has less of a plot, is a little funny, and is modern, and it was all pretty much true. It takes place one night, at the last day of a Red Lobster that is closing. If you’re looking for a great literary fiction read (and again, do not need traditional plot!) I highly recommend Last Night By The Lobster.

July 23, 2022 at 12:09 amIt’s always nice to purchase something nice in memory of 40th birthday. I bought a Rolex 31mm Datejust that I wear everyday, also to commemorate 20 years of working experience.
I’ve been wanting a nice coffee table for our living room too, in the near future when I can finally get rid of the Lego pieces. They are all over, on the floor too.
