1. This week, sharing a pretty caftan from Etsy:
My friend J sent me this shop and I have been browsing it ever since. They have so many gorgeous items, although I think some of it is because the model herself is so gorgeous. I haven’t actually ordered anything yet – I wish they used natural fabrics – but I have been thinking about it. There is higher shipping (understandable, as its coming from Bali), so I think I’d wait until I have a larger order.
2. A piece via Buzzfeed about the limb lengthening surgery some men (I think it’s mostly men?) are going through.
3. I loved this article via WSJ about the style known as “coastal grandmother.” I love this style!! I want to be a CG. Also, I know I am nearing the grandmother age anyway, as I do not learn of these trends from TikTok, but rather when they are written about in the WSJ.
4. A truly bonkers series of article via Vanity Fair, about the extreme lies of a member of its writing staff. For those of you who like long juicy articles – your time has come!! And there is a Part One, and a Part Two!
5. This week, I read Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.
I liked this! It was adorable, fun, and also addressed some weightier issues (sexism in the workplace). I would say it’s similar in tone to the books of Emily Henry. I also loved that this was a debut author at the age of 63. If you are looking for a lighter, fun read, I recommend Lessons in Chemistry.

May 14, 2022 at 6:42 pmI was recently told I was a “Coastal Grandmother”. I looked it up and saw that my wardrobe qualified. I’m 72, so I’m guessing my age qualifies too. But my research was about a week ago, so my time might be up. If it is, I guess I’m now a “has been”. Oh, well…..

Just wanted to thank you for the book recommendation, Invisible Child by Andrea Elliott. I was really moved by the story and writing. Did you see she won a Pultizer Prize for it?
