Hello! Summer is almost here! I am underwater on a bunch of stuff and thus am writing this right now, late Monday morning before I go out and pick up some Chinese food takeout for lunch. Ahhh. Some life updates on my end:
Shopping: I have been trying to buy some strappy black sandals. My old Pradas are getting ready to bite the dust (have served me for years!) So far I’ve had one dud arrive which I already sent back. I’m going to collect them and put them together in a post once (if?) I find a good one. I am determined! Spring/summer sales should be starting soon, right? And I need to wait for a sale because…
The stock market: I’ve stopped looking. It’s too awful. I guess today it’s a little bit of green. But what is there to say? Just know if you’ve stopped looking at your portfolio I am right there with you.
The monotony: Is strong lately. I feel like I’m always saying the same thing…how fortunate we are to even feel like life is monotonous. Not to have to worry about safety or food. The weather is wonderful and yet I do still feel it is the same routine day in and day out. I wish we could change it up but are waiting for vaccines (more below). But that is luck in itself, to be bored, and I have to be better about actively realizing it.
Covid: I can’t believe we have another surge. Well I can believe it, but you know. What I am absolutely incredulous about is that there is still no 2-5 year old vaccine….WHAT? I am weighing cancelling indoor holidays plans because we had made them when we assumed my daughter would be vaccinated. And at this point, since she turns 5 in late summer, we are debating just waiting until then, so she can have the larger dosage. I don’t know. I’m a little more afraid this time because we know a few people with young kids who have caught it…and they seem to have stronger reactions. I feel like Covid is everywhere right now. Like – everywhere.
And that’s all…a little life update in year 3 of Covid. How are you all doing?

May 23, 2022 at 1:10 pmI’ve been waiting for my son (soon to be 5) to get vaccinated too. It looks like we’d have to wait till Summer when he actually turns 5. On another note, is your LO going to kindergarten? I ask this because we’ve been debating whether we should hold our summer birthday son back for one year before kindergarten. I’m leaning towards it more now. Anyhow, hope we all survive and stay sane till Summer!!

May 23, 2022 at 3:42 pmYes, I hope you stay sane too! Yes, she is going to Kinder, but part of that is in our district you can’t hold back if they are a late birthday – you can only do that if you are going the private route.

May 25, 2022 at 9:53 amOoh I like these a lot! I have added them to my own wishlist 🙂 Looks like they would hold the foot in more than orans, too. I have found that you have to try on H shoes though as they all have different fits!

May 23, 2022 at 7:00 pmHi Kat – do you have some sort of wooden tray under the puzzle? if yes, do you mind sharing a link?

May 25, 2022 at 9:56 amI actually made my husband make this for me I think for my birthday one year? (LOL) – however I have seen similar ones on Etsy!

May 23, 2022 at 9:36 pmMy stock portfolio stresses me out too but I try to remember that the S&P 500 is just back to about 1 year ago (3950ish), which is about 20% higher than pre covid, early 2020 (3100ish). Of course some tech stocks have seen much sharper ups and downs!

May 24, 2022 at 8:44 amI am so frustrated about the lack of vaccines for the 2-5. My daughter’s 3 and in pre-school and even though we have weekly testing and full masking, it’s already hit one classroom hard. Another of her classmate’s brother got it and we’re just crossing our fingers that’s the end of it. I’m hoping the vaccine will be out by end of June but it’ll probably be closer to July (in which case it sounds like you might as well wait for your kid to turn 5). Good luck to all parents of the under 5s!

May 25, 2022 at 9:57 amWe get notified every week…it’s so worrisome! Yes good luck to us all 🙁 Just have to make it to July.

May 30, 2022 at 1:12 pmYes, I feel like covid is everywhere, too. I did get it when I went on vacation a few weeks ago. I think I must have contracted it from the airport where I had to spend several hours, crammed up with a bunch of other people, none wearing masks. I was in bed for three days, but I am starting to feel better now, several weeks after.
