1. This week, sharing this great dress from J.Crew:
I think this is a lovely slip dress, at a nice price, in a nice fabric, that isn’t too precious. I’ve seen some slip dresses I love which are like $1000, and some that look great but are like $50 and I worry that the whole thing would fall apart when I wear it. This hits at a nice medium, I think.
2. I enjoyed this piece, via NY Mag, about the revolt amongst Goldman’s IB analysts earlier this year.
3. Sharing this feature, via Vogue, about this bonkers lavish wedding in San Francisco a few weeks ago. This got pretty roasted on social media – I do think there’s an element of Hunger Games to it, which obviously they didn’t do on purpose. But. Hmm. Actually I just noticed that the photos come from the same photographer who photographed my wedding (a really nice artist named Jose Villa who I would never be able to afford now).
4. What do you all think about this piece, about how Bottega Veneta has a new designer? I still don’t get what happened with Daniel Lee. Was he really difficult? It kind of seems like it given the abrupt departure. Would love any intel! There are some crazy rumors circulating that would be very disappointing if true!
5. This week I read Our Country Friends by Gary Shytengart.
I’ve tried a few of Shytengart’s novels, and this one is my favorite. A Covid novel (which I never thought I’d want to read) – but this is clever, smart, and wonderful writing. I highly recommend Our Country Friends.

November 20, 2021 at 6:53 amBonkers lavish wedding is right! And yes I searched, wanting to know the cost of such an event weekend, even an estimate. I know, gauche on my part.
Kathy, I remember your wedding photos. So tasteful, elegant, with sentimental touches – beautiful and timeless.
