1. This week, sharing this drapey shirt from Everlane.
I love it! And have ordered the gray above to try out. I like the cropped fit, the big sleeves, the way it drapes…everything. The one thing I’m worried about is wrinkles but it is a friendly price and so I think worth a try.
2. It might be because I’m in the Bay Area (and also like Birkenstocks) but I liked this Refinery 29 money diary about a 29 year old who makes $110K a year.
3. I love both Marina Abramovic and Elena Ferrante, so loved LOVED this interview between the two of them for FT. I’ll be re-reading this one for sure. So many great gems for anyone interested in the creative process.
4. My fashion article of the week: this NYTimes piece about the gray market. I have long seen sites like Cettire and didn’t know if they were legitimate. Now I know!
5. This week, I read Dirty Work by Eyal Press.
This book has been on my list for some time, but to be honest, I had to be in the right mood for it – it’s an important book, which talks about all the jobs we as Americans know need to be done for a society (prison guard, meatpacking worker) and yet don’t like to think about. Because we feel guilty. And because – as this book very clearly articulates – we should. This read was eye opening, essential, and I learned a ton from it. And it’s really engaging too. If you’re looking for your next non fiction read, I highly recommend Dirty Work.
