Weekend Update

1. This week, sharing a basic blazer from Isabel Marant.

I’ve been searching for a nice plaid blazer for awhile, and for some reason had ignored Isabel Marant, believing (unfairly?) that their materials weren’t the greatest. I guess for awhile I had looked at their jackets, and there were a lot of synthetics, and forgot about them – so I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was 100% wool! I’ve eyed the oversized blazer from Everlane for years but have never done it – I am thinking this might be my version.

4. I liked this article, via the WSJ, about the handbags carried by our favorite (rich) TV characters. Did you like White Lotus? I did and I love reading interviews with Mike White, the show’s creator, who seems fun and normal.

4. I thought this piece, via the NY Times, was lovely: How To Age Gracefully.

5. This week I read Land of Big Numbers, of Te-Ping Chen.

I loved this book. It’s been on my radar for a while and I finally got around to it. I loved almost all of the stories, and being Chinese myself, recognized aspects of myself and in many fo them. If you’re a fan of short stories, literary fiction, and/or want to learn more about life in modern China, I highly recommend Land of Big Numbers.
