Sale PSA: A loose black cotton dress from Merlette, now 40% off, and simple denim shorts from Everlane, now just $34 (I am very tempted by these! I would buy a size bigger for sure), a very pretty smocked sundress from Frame, now 40% off, and one of my favorite linen shops on Etsy currently has 15% off all items.
1. This week, sharing something more aspirational, this Foundrae necklace.
I have eyed Foundrae for YEARS! And yet still never taken the plunge. But it doesn’t mean I don’t want to – my favorite have always been these “Y” shaped necklaces, which I’ve worried are too trendy for I think 4-5 years now. I love their designs and how much you can personalize each item.
2. A fun piece, via The Cut – I Hate How Much I Love My SKIMS. I don’t have anything from SKIMS yet but I admit I have admired certain pieces!
3. I really enjoyed this piece, via the NYT, about how you can’t find a fridge these days in fancy kitchens. I think it looks nice but I don’t find it aspirational. Well maybe the bit about the drawers that pull out (with MORE drinks inside!).
4. I absolutely loved this piece, via the FT, with various artists/designers and their favorite hotels and spots around the world.
5. This week I read Big Magic, by Elizabeth Gilbert.
I liked this! I’d describe it as a sort of treatise on creative output/semi-self help book, written in Gilbert’s very charming, approachable prose. It was a fast read too, and definitely made me think about my own work. If you have a creative dream, and want a little nudge and some inspiration from someone who definitely knows, check out Big Magic.

September 3, 2021 at 7:08 amI love Foundrae! I, too, have admired for years but never purchased any of their pieces. I agree that their designs are trendy and won’t have a long shelf-life – they are too pricey for that! Kat, have a great Labor Day weekend!
