Hello! For those in the U.S. I hope you had a wonderful long weekend. Some random musings from the last few weeks:
Kids: Nothing really here, except that my daughter finally dropped her nap! She’s a little more rebellious than my son so I’ve been holding my breath for the last year waiting for her to finally get mad that she has to nap and her brother doesn’t. So we are for the first time in six years, an entirely napless existence in the house. Sometimes I miss having that little break when she was sleeping (my son is way more able to amuse himself quietly), but it’s also so much more convenient in terms of planning outings, etc.
Covid: I feel like we’re in this weird lull. We started school a few weeks back, which was a little stressful. But now we have weekly testing at both our kid’s schools (preschool and 1st grade) which is the most I feel we can do at this point (besides masking which we’re of course doing). I’ve been trying not to stress out on this topic because you can definitely go down paranoid rabbit holes. BUT it is still shocking to occasionally come across the person who has chosen not to vaccinate and at that point I usually have to restrain the tiny fireworks popping off in my head. AGH!
…to that end, I have been spending my spare minutes working on this Ravensburger puzzle. I love puzzles and talk about them constantly I know, but one other great thing about them is that your head empties of other stuff while you’re looking for a piece. This one is SO HARD and I would not recommend it to anyone but a true jigsaw lover. BUT if you do love them, and are looking for a challenge, I would really recommend this. I’ve been doing it for the past two weeks and it’s truly driving me crazy as it is taking up a huge amount of space on the ground and it is usually me who is nagging about cleaning up the ground, and thus I’ve trapped myself.
And finally:
Shopping: I want a new bag. In a nice bright COLOR. There are several candidates but I’ve been too lazy to go and try anything on. Also having looked at jewelry lately I always find myself surprised when comparing the cost of a bag and jewelry – one is leather, the other is precious metals! And yet they are priced quite near.
I have a pretty busy month coming up with a lot of stuff being juggled so maybe by the end of it I’ll snap and order myself something cool. If so, I’ll be sure to share!
How are all of you doing?

I love reading your blog.

I just got a new BV in bright Kelly green and it sparks joy

September 10, 2021 at 2:12 pmHi Kat, just curious…what do you do when you finish with the puzzles? Do you end up framing it? With all the effort, I could imagine you framing it. Or does it all go back into the box?
