My White Birkenstocks

Today a short and simple post, about my new Birkenstocks:

I love these. I have quite a few pairs of Birkenstocks and these are my current favorite. They are my only white pair – wait, okay, that isn’t true, I have one other pair of white Birkenstocks, the Arizona EVAs in white. Do NOT get any EVA items in white! They stain and get discolored right away. Any other color is fine!

Okay, moving on.

I decided I wanted white Birks earlier this summer, and in the Arizona style, because I wanted them to grip the feet a little more. Still, Birkenstock has so many different white iterations that for a while I could not make up my mind! I settled on my current pair after looking at several different options – here are some notes and models:

Matte white with silver buckles: For a long time I thought I’d get these. But I was slightly more partial to the patent finish, and the gold buckle. BUT these are a close second!

Arizona “Big” Buckle: I really like the finished footbed detail on this pair – I think it looks sleek and slightly more dressy. However, I ultimately didn’t get these because I’ve figured out that I prefer the original suede footbed more – it just “grips” my foot a little better. I know some people feel the opposite however, so definitely try these if the look appeals to you more!

And then finally, my pair, the “patent” pair with gold buckle. Note that the patent is not real leather, but rather the “Birkoflor” material that is cheaper than real leather. This feels nice and soft, and if you have any shoes with the Birkoflor material, it’s exactly the same feeling.

Okay, a quick (very fuzzy) photo with these on. I have been wearing them with everything – I don’t think I’ve worn heels for a solid year at one point. They are so comfortable, I walk miles, and they match with pretty much all summer clothing. PS: this dress is Loft, all cotton, super comfortable in hot weather, and $28 with code NEED right now.

Before going to a swim party (as in, kids swim and party, I suffer and fetch water bottles). And I’m a little embarrassed because now seeing the photo I feel that I am dressing unbearably young. I am late thirties!! But anyway, sharing it because you can see how the shoes are with shorts. The tank is the Everlane Air Cami which is my favorite loose tank to wear in hot weather (bra friendly too).
