1. This week on my homewares wishlist: these gorgeous Murano glasses.
Ugh I like these so much. I am a total sucker for Murano anything and love looking at the glassware. One of my future bucket list trips is a long, long tour of Italy. In the meantime I’m browsing online – this is one of the favorite little Murano shops I’ve come across. I’d I also love this set of four. One thing to note -these sizes are pretty small! So check sizes carefully if you want to order.
2. This piece, via the NYTimes, about clothes moths proliferating in the time of Covid is my absolute nightmare. I HATE moths. I LOVE cashmere. It’s my greatest paranoia!!
3. Sharing this piece, via the WSJ, about tweens loving LoveShackFancy. I have liked some LSF items in the past and I have to admit this article makes me think twice about buying any again. I don’t want to match with a tween and then be laughed at!
4. Do you stay at AirBnBs? I know people love it but I personally don’t have much experience. Sharing this piece, via Bloomberg, about AirBnB’s secretive team that handles safety disasters.
5. This week, I read Drive Your Plow Over The Bones of the Dead, by Olga Tokarczuk.
This is interesting. It’s described as a thriller but if you’re looking for one of the airport variety (I love those too) you might be disappointed. I’d describe this more as a character study and almost like a surreal mystery – the language takes a little time to get used to, but once you are in the rhythm, the book flows. It was incredibly satisfying AND I felt like I’d been in the presence of a master after reading (I mean Tokarczuk did win the freaking Nobel!). If you’re looking for a literary read with that something extra, I highly recommend Drive Your Plow Over The Bones of the Dead.
