A chic short sleeve alpaca tee from Everlane, now $37, white Superstars from adidas, now 40% off, a classic mini bag from Paco Rabanne, now 50% off (I really, really love this), and classic ballet flats from Chloe, now 40% off.
1. This week, sharing a handy organizer, from Target.
This is technically for makeup but I am currently using it in my office to hold all sorts of things. And it is excellent! And so is the price – I spent more on something similar from Muji but now we don’t have Muji anymore (sniff). I love this and it’s exactly the sort of item I’m always delighted to find at Target. Hooray!
2. A quick gossipy piece, via Vanity Fair, about how the Gates divorce is entering its next phase.
3. A fun piece via the NY Times, about how high heels are back. What do you all think? It’s funny, I didn’t think I wanted them, but after reading this piece I was thinking about how pretty they were.
4. A both empowering and depressing article, via The Washington Post, about how the Chinese government wants women to have more babies, but women themselves don’t.
5. This week I read Early Morning Riser, from Katherine Heiny.
I love Katherine Heiny so as soon as I saw she had a new book I immediately ordered. Her first novel, Standard Deviation, is one of my favorites. Heiny’s second novel (much like her first) is funny and smart and warm (but in a snarky way). If you’re looking for something Anne Tyler ish, a lovely literary domestic “drama” (if it could be called drama – there are no murders or husbands disappearing, just FYI), I highly recommend Early Morning Riser.
