1. This week, sharing these chic and sleek leather slides from Jimmy Choo.

I know, it’s sale season! But I was just lamenting to a friend that a lot of the items I was really into did not go on sale – and a few that I paid full price for did. We concluded it’s the price we pay for convenience and not time savings (but it’s still painful, oy). Anyway, this is a pair of Choos I was hoping would go on discount and of course never did – I just think they look so easy to slip on, the leather looks sumptuous and the price is already pretty good (for designer, let’s be clear). There’s also a lovely tan!

2. In the tried and true vein of “rolling eyes at the rich” thematic pieces – please enjoy this article, via the NYT, about the Hamptons being busier than ever.

3. I really adored this interview, via The Daily Beast, with Keith McNally, the owner of Balthazar and a slew of other restaurants. I know some of his views are probably controversial (is that the right word)? But I’ll be honest: I love him.

4. I know quite a few of you like personal finance pieces – so sharing this one, via The Cut, from a man who recently found out about his wife’s trust fund.

5. This week I read The Year of the Runaways, by Sunjeev Sahota.

This was actually a recommendation from a reader – I think from quite a few months ago, when I mentioned I loved reading books set in India. Runaways cuts between India and London – it follows the journey of multiple characters, and how they ultimately arrived as immigrants to the UK. The writing is highly literary and the plot literary as well (as in, a little slower). But, it’s a wonderful read for anyone who loves epics (I do!). If you’re looking for a book to get lost in, a good, literary long one – I highly recommend The Year of the Runaways.
