1. This week, sharing this pointelle skirt, via Uniqlo.
I love it! Very pretty and floaty (comes in white and beige) and has an elastic waist (yes) and plus, is in all cotton. I have found that Uniqlo has great midi skirts, and if you are careful about the material, they can be great buys.
2. Sharing this article, via the LA Times, about how a new way some people are cheating restaurants (seriously, why would anyone do this, especially now?) during the pandemic. Hopefully we’ll all be eating in restaurants soon! I miss them so much.
3. A fun article via the NY Times, about the power of the cloth coat. I love coats. I added a few this winter even though I wasn’t going anywhere. Because they look good but you still feel nice and warm and cozy.
4. In case you haven’t been following this, the Daily Beast gives a good summary of what’s going on with the newly announced EIC at Teen Vogue right now (complete with advertisers pulling out).
5. This week I’m reading Born Standing Up, by Steve Martin.
I’ve been interested in Steve Martin’s writing ever since I read Shopgirl. And as expected, his memoir is really really good! I loved Martin’s movies growing up and so it’s wonderful to read about his life and his career. If you’re looking for a well written, funny yes, but also touching, wise memoir, I highly recommend Born Standing Up.

March 12, 2021 at 1:08 pmOh, thanks for the memoir recommendation! I’ve been listening to celebrity memoirs as audiobooks on my power walk work breaks the whole pandemic. I didn’t have a good one lined up next so just started The Guest List instead. Will put Steve next on the list!

March 12, 2021 at 6:01 pmThank you for sharing the story on the EIC at Teen Vogue. I’m saddened that Condé Nast continues to support someone who has made racist statements towards Asians and homophobic comments as EIC, especially as Teen Vogue has been championing equity issues for awhile now.

March 13, 2021 at 12:30 amHmm it turns out that Alexi McCammond is the girlfriend of the White House press secretary who threatened another reporter when that reporter was planning on exposing Alexi and the press secretary’s romantic relationship. He got fired for it. It was strange how he overreacted, he told the reporter “I will destroy you.” I wonder what’s going on behind the scenes.
