1. This week sharing a beautiful tan tote, from Saint Laurent.
I love this tote! How simple and elegant it is. The removable strap that lets you wear it crossbody or on your shoulder. The little zipped pocket inside. And the gorgeous color and leather. I have not looked at YSL bags for a quite a while but this one definitely made my head turn – gorgeous and so practical, even for a work tote (for when we….if we….go back to the office).
2. Sharing this article, also sent to me by R (hi!!) about this insane eBay scandal which you might of heard of, already involving their highest executives. Crazy that the two executives are still out and about operating in the biz community while the lower levels are facing jail time.
3. Sharing this important piece, via the NY Times, about rising suicide numbers amongst Japanese celebrities.
4. I want to know your thoughts on this article, via The Hollywood Reporter, on Charlotte Kirk, the actress who has been linked to some of the highest level resignations in Hollywood. There are definitely multiple angles and sides to this story – here’s one from another angle, via the NY Post.
5. This week I read 10:04, by Ben Lerner.
I’d tried one of Lerner’s novels, Leaving The Atocha Station (his first one) awhile back, and couldn’t get into it. A friend of mine LOVES 10:04 though, so I gave it a shot, and really enjoyed this one. I then went back and tried Atocha again and loved it too. Lerner is definitely note for everyone – he’s autofiction, so writing almost in a stream of consciousness, from the first person, in a sort of Rachel Cusk/Knausgaard fashion. There’s not a whole lot of plot (but there is some). BUT Lerner is a really brilliant writer and clever too, which I always love. IF you like autofiction (this is a no go if you don’t), and haven’t already tried Ben Lerner’s novels, I highly recommend 10:04.
