1. This week, sharing a sale find, from J.Crew.
I love this top! So easy and versatile and perfect for lazing about at home. I think it is quite glamorous and the sale price makes it an easy buy. I feel like J.Crew has quite a few gems lately but it takes LOTS of sorting through (and who has the time? Me, apparently).
2. A bonkers story, via the NY Times, about a fake professor at ASU. I had kind of peripherally followed this woman for years and especially after the Covid story – it’s a crazy read!
3. Sharing this article, via the NY Times: Secondhand Shoppers Worry About Their Favorite Shops. We passed a local thrift shop the other day and I was so sad thinking about all the goods inside!
4. A short piece, via Vanity Fair, about the rich buying up multiple homes in the Hamptons.
5. This week, I re-read an earlier favorite: A Spool of Blue Thread.
I read this quite a few years ago during an Anne Tyler phase (she’s one of my favorites!). I had basically forgotten the whole plot but knew that I liked it – always a comforting feeling. Like most of Tyler’s work, this novel is about an unhappy family through multiple generations. And I loved it (again). For any fans of Tyler, for anyone looking for a family story who (but not one with murders or secret affairs and etc etc) I highly recommend A Spool of Blue Thread. A wonderful balm for the times.
