1. This week, sharing a sandal from my #1 shoe brand – yes, Birkenstock of course!
I like these quite a lot. I basically wear Birkenstocks all summer so I’m always looking for new alternatives.
2. Sharing this piece, in the NYT, about some grandparents who are sick of their lazy children. This was so interesting to me because the question, and then the answer, presents both sides of the equation.
3. An interesting piece, via PurseBlog, about why we want to purchase less this year.
4. I really loved this Modern Love piece, by Nancy Meyers. I love Nancy Meyers, so. The funny thing is that I sent piece to a writing friend who is decades older than me and he hated it. I wonder what you think?
5. This week, I read Catch and Kill, by Ronan Farrow.
What a book! Honestly, Farrow is (to me) one of those people you kind of in a tiny part of your soul hope is overrated – he’s just so accomplished and young and good looking?? So it was a disappointment for me to read this and discover that he is seemingly as incredible as he appears, and a fantastic writer and brave journalist to boot. I tore through this book in a day and left it having learned so much and so much respect for Farrow (and even more disgust for Harvey Weinstein and his cadre of enablers/protectors).
If you are interested in how the Weinstein story came out, how it was nearly killed (many times) by the executives at NBC, or just in a plain old good fashioned story, I highly recommend Catch and Kill.

March 6, 2020 at 9:39 amI read Catch and Kill a few weeks ago, before Weinstein was sentenced. It was a fantastic read. I also liked reading the part related to Matt Lauer.

March 6, 2020 at 12:36 pmI have Catch and Kill waiting to be read.
I also read and loved Nancy Meyer’s Modern Love piece. I am also decades older than you…I think that made me love it even more. Your friend who hated it did so for some other reason…

March 8, 2020 at 5:48 amI am currently listening to the catch and kill podcast- I think you’d enjoy that too! I love hearing Ronan speak about how he uncovered so much information and the hurdles he faced to get this story out. I haven’t read the book yet though so not sure how repetitive the podcast would be. But he even plays recordings of Weinstein and you can hear how he uses his position of power to try and convince girls to “work with him.”
