1. Sharing this week: some excellent mules, from Jimmy Choo.
I have the super old version of these in nude, which I loved for years, which for some reason I can’t fit into because of pregnancy (WHY?). I can fit into most of my other shoes but these just won’t work. Maybe it’s cause they already formed and they are patent? Anyway, I love this updated version so much and have been looking for another pair – these are GREAT and so cool and I wonder what the comfort level is.
To that end – I’ve often wondered about the Tamara Mellon Frontlines. Anyone have these?
2. An interesting piece, via Business of Fashion, over whether Dolce & Gabbana has recovered from their earlier controversies, or whether they were even ever *dinged* to begin with.
3. A NYT piece about a “quieter” fashion stylist, Sarah Price. What do you think? I wonder what other stylists think of her.
4. Another GREAT article, from a friend in HK, about yet another socialite scammer who managed to nab huge chunks of money (and a Rolls Royce?? and Vancouver real estate? and to be married to two men at the same time?) via the SCMP. I always wonder why these stories via SCMP don’t blow up in the US? Is it because they aren’t based here? Also, just being picky, but the article itself is a little hard to follow…I think in the right hands/right organization and editing it could be KILLER.
5. This week, I read The Man Without A Face, by Masha Gessen.
I’m a big fan of Masha Gessen’s work- she is always so eloquent, so well written, and so this book, a sort of biography/commentary on Putin, has been on my list for awhile. It’s interesting because even Masha in this book doesn’t get too many details – the man is a mystery – but you still finish reading it with a sense of having learned a ton, of being engaged. If you want to learn more about Russia (contemporary), about Putin, about the role of journalism within Russia – I recommend The Man Without A Face.

March 26, 2020 at 5:31 amHi Anon, jumping in here. I think you have to go to HR and use the term bullying – this behavior needs to be called out. Document whatever you can in writing. Hugs
