Sale PSA: A great metallic dress from ALC, now 60% off, a pretty little white dress from Doen, now $200 (but WHY final sale at 30%??), and a lovely lace trimmed pleated dress from Vince, now $208.
1. Sale item I am considering: this little bucket bag, by The Row.
I have been obsessed with The Row lately. Which is depressing because their prices are not exactly…friendly. Next to their clothing prices however their bag prices almost look REASONABLE (I guess I have Hermes vision too) and I really like this little bag. I have two other black crossbody bags though so I really don’t need it. But I love the shape and it’s even on sale. Ugh.
2. Love this interview/Q&A with Tina Brown. I’ll read almost anything written both about, and by Tina. Not because I always agree, but her point of view is always interesting.
3. A very fun piece via the NYT about what the employees of Moda Operandi wear (a lot of THE ROW!!).
4. Oof to this piece, via The Atlantic – When A Promotion Leads To Divorce. Anyone want to guess the genders involved here?
5. This week I read Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber, by Mike Isaac.
This has been on my list for a while. Non-fiction about the Valley? Check. Obnoxious billionaires who finally get their due (kind of………..)? Check. This book, by Isaac, a NYT reporter who extensively covered Uber for years, follows its rise and fall with a lot of detail (and some formerly unknown gossip). If you liked Bad Blood, or followed the Theranos unfolding with glee and horror – I highly recommend Super Pumped.

February 16, 2020 at 11:16 amI can see you wearing that bag. It’s beautiful. If you decide to buy it, I’ll live vicariously through you!
I’m finally being realistic about my odd relationship with handbags. Buy impulsively with good intentions, realize my error, and move on. I wouldn’t call it an epiphany…..it’s taken me 70 years. I’m a slow learner. Maybe you can share some of your self-control with me.
