Hello! I ALMOST made it to the end of January without buying anything new (I ordered this jumpsuit – pretty good, right?? It hasn’t arrived yet, so maybe I’ll count it for Feb) but there have been a few items that I enjoyed and wore a LOT in January, that I think are worth the price. So sharing them with you today-
First, a beauty product!
Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Curviest Caramel, $19: I love this color, very “your lips but better” at least for me. I’ve used up two of these to the end so that makes them a super winner in my book. So easy to apply, good color payoff and still moisturizing. I tried to find a dupe in a drugstore but could not (do any of you have suggestions?
Everlane Henley Waffle Tee, $38: I got this in bone, and now am thinking about adding black and gray. It’s really good! I am a henley lover AND a waffle tee lover so this is right up my alley. It’s also a great semi-cropped length which looks flattering with everything yet doesn’t show my belly (BELLY) sometimes when I list my arms, like other cropped shirts do. It’s really great! The kind you buy that ends up being a closet staple.
Birkenstock EVA Gizeh, $45: I recently was in Hawaii and these Birkenstocks were all I wore! I really love the Birkenstock EVA line – they are inexpensive, require zero break in (comfortable off the bat) and actually look decent. I have a pair that I’ve worn as slippers indoors for two years and they are still going strong. Awesome shoes. These are great for beaches/sandy playgrounds because they wash off easily in water, unlike the cork Birkenstocks, and are super light. If you’re going to the beach, get a pair of the Birkenstock EVAs.
Baggu bags, $25 for set of three. I have this exact set and use them a lot. The plaid is cool! I feel like I’m in Empire Records (not really, but you get the deal). This year I am really trying to reduce my plastic bag usage – when we leave restaurants with leftovers, etc, instead of taking their plastic bag I always just whip out my Baggu. Yes it can feel a little useless when you see their big STACK of plastic bags but I really feel that we can do our share! And these bags are way cuter. I’ve washed mine in the washing machine and they come out perfect.
What are some of your recent favorites? Please share!

February 3, 2020 at 6:50 pmTotally agree with you on the Birkenstock EVA. I have three pairs and can’t figure out why I didn’t get hooked on them before. They are especially fantastic for casual beach vacations. I just wish they’d have a recycling scheme given how popular they are! Hope you are doing well.

February 4, 2020 at 1:17 pmI was thinking of doing a comparison post between the Fairmont and FS where we normally stay – but honestly other than that I was a slave to my children the whole time!

February 4, 2020 at 6:35 amLongchamp grey neo pliage, nothing revolutionary. But it was a semi-impulsive purchase, after years of giving pliages as gifts, I finally decided to get one for myself.

February 4, 2020 at 6:50 amNeutrogena makes a dupe that I prefer to the Clinique chubby stick. Plum Perfect is the perfect sheer berry. There is also a pinky nude almond that is great. Around $8- but if you wait for the BOGO at RiteAid or CVS you can do better. There is a slight fruity scent that dissipates quickly- I like the scent but others might not. Check it out here: https://www.neutrogena.com/makeup/makeup-lips/moisturesmooth-color-stick/6843765XX.html?cgid=makeup-lips&dwvar_6843765XX_color=9#start=1

February 7, 2020 at 6:01 amI am just curious about not buying anything in January. For me it’s one of my favourite times to buy things – for example I love Eric Bompard cashmere cardigans and you can basically buy every colour And style for 50% off in Jan – 150 EUR instead of 300 EUR each. That’s a huge saving.
I’m totally on board for having months of not buying things, but I find the savings in January just too good to pass up. I know from your posts you love a good sale, so I just thought i’d ask – maybe you have more sales in the US than we do in Europe so it’s not such a big deal to hold off for Jan.

February 7, 2020 at 7:33 amYes! Completely! Our sales typically start in Nov/Jan versus you guys do it at designated times (a better system in my opinion) If I found Bompard for a discount like that Jan would be a shopping month for certain1
