Sale PSA: A classic “Club” tote from Longchamp, now 33% off (you can also find the gray Neo for a third off here), a (gorgeous) set of golden mini YSL lipsticks, now $56, very cute Sperry rainboots, now under $80, beautiful (!!) waterproof booties from Aquatalia, now 40% off, and black “Hi Stars” from Golden Goose, now $411.
1. Today, sharing a great shoe from Nisolo, the Mariella Mule, currently on sale for $128.
Which is already a good price, especially for an all leather shoe. However I noticed that this mule is part of their buy one get one free collection – which makes it even better! I would probably get the heeled Chelsea myself or maybe the Palomas for the deal – I would definitely be ordering in this deal but had actually just ordered the Mariellas for myself a few weeks ago.
2. Sharing this piece, via Jia Tolentino for The New Yorker, on “sassy mom” merchandise. Have you seen the Amazon Prime shirt in your area? I have.
3. Very excited to share this article, courtesy a friend in Hong Kong, via SCMP – The Rise and Fall of Scammer Azura. Wow! My favorite article I’m sharing this week! Why this is not blowing up further is beyond me.
4. For anyone who is familiar with the Away luggage brand – a scathing piece, via The Verge, about the workplace culture at the company (I don’t own anything from Away and know very little about it other than it’s really successful!). Would love to hear your thoughts.
5. This week, I’m re-reading an old favorite, Watchmen.
Are you watching the show? Please tell me you’re watching a show. I can only really manage one show at a time and this one is it for me right now. It is SO good. As an Alan Moore fan and knowing that he didn’t want to participate I kind of thought the show wouldn’t be for me – until a friend basically forced me, and I LOVE it. Wow. The writing, execution, everything. But the book is where it all starts from, and it is truly incredible. If you haven’t read a graphic novel before, or if you like the show but haven’t yet read the book, I highly recommend you try out Watchmen.

December 6, 2019 at 10:58 amHi Kat, are you in good reads (aside from your author profile)? Would love to snoop your book list in one place for inspiration.

December 6, 2019 at 12:19 pmI hope you don’t get offended. But from reading last Monday’s topic…Girlfriend – how many mules do you have?? Did the gucci princetons work out for you? You must have a shoe closet full or mules after kids. Again, no offense.
Personally, I think mules are like jogging pants. Lol. But the princetons I do like. Do you ever think you will return to buying Christian Loub’s as you have in the past?
Kat
December 6, 2019 at 2:45 pmLOL no you are right to ask. The Princetowns (I have a pair from years back, so I’m talking about the new pair) I decided not to keep because I should just wear my existing dying pair and then call it a day – they’ve always extended a little bit too far down my foot for my liking, but the rest of the shoe is so comfortable that I’ve accepted it. But I don’t think I need a second. Mules are my jogging pants – they are just SO easy and I wear them with socks in winter. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to Loubs…just not my lifestyle now!!

December 8, 2019 at 8:10 amThanks for sharing the article about Away. Being in a startup right now I can say it’s so easy to muddle one’s perception of what’s normal and what’s not when working in a startup. So many otherwise questionable behaviors get a pass in the name of a startup. Much is reported on the success stories but little is known what it’s really like inside of one.
