1. For those looking for a good pair of winter boots – I’m sharing these classic Blundstones.
I’ve actually looked at Blundstone shoes for a long time. A friend who travels a ton to colder climates recommended to me and said they were super comfy and chic and she paired them with Smartwool socks. They are apparently a struggle to get on but once they are on fit tightly around the ankle. And the little heel is just enough to be comfortable, and give a bit of height. I love these and wanted to share for anyone looking for a practical ankle boot or fall.
2. Sharing this piece, via The NY Times, on the family behind Forever 21 – both its rise and collapse. Super interesting.

3. Interested in your thoughts on this piece, via again The NY Times, on the “co opting” of modest fashion. I myself have been dressing more conservatively lately but I thought it was just because I’m becoming old and less tolerant of discomfort? And I really just a sheep instead??
4. One of my favorite places to look when I’m searching for articles to share with you is Vanity Fair. Their archives are a goldmine. This week I’m sharing this one, about Andrew Cunanan, who shot Gianni Versace.
5. This week, I’m reading The Walking Dead, Compendium 4.

This is the end of the series. I’ve collected these compendiums ever since they came out – I could read them years earlier but a) I’m cheap and b) no longer actively follow graphic novels so this is a good way to get it all. If you watch the show or even if you don’t (like me) I still really recommended these books. Gory? Yes. A masterpiece? In my opinion, yes, one of the best graphic novel series ever made. One thing to note – these books are HEAVY. I like to read in bed, sometimes lazily with the book above me but there’s no way I can do that – this one requires two hands, set on the bed or the ground. Love this. What an achievement! I highly recommend the final volume of The Walking Dead.
