1. This week, sharing this great (and nicely priced!) versatile dress, from The Frankie Shop.
I was very excited to see The Frankie Shop on Net-A-Porter! I love the actual online shop however I’ve had problems with sizing on some items and the return process isn’t the easiest so I’m always hesitant to order. Going through N-A-P though is a no brainer. Love this midi dress and it’s the sort of piece you’ll wear over and over. It also comes in olive (which is also available at the moment in all sizes).
2. Sharing an oldie but goodie for those who want to indulge in some real estate schadenfreude: this piece, via Toronto Life: We Bought A Crackhouse.
3. If by any chance you have missed out on the Caroline Calloway hubbub, the NY Times has a great primer, with links to all the relevant pieces.
4. Loved this article on Kara Swisher, via The Cut, on ambition and having a baby at 56.
5. This week, like many other people, I am reading The Testaments, by Margaret Atwood.
Like many of you, I am an Atwood fan. I think I’ve read everything she’s ever written and when I got married the reading was a poem by her. She’s amazing and wonderful and of course this book is the same excellence as anything else she’s ever touched. I’m about halfway through and it’s as propulsive and though provoking as anything she’s ever written – it’s interesting as I find the prose a little more plain than her past work, but maybe because it’s also first person, like in The Handmaids Tale (which this is a sequel of). I’m thrilled not just because this is a great book but she was also on the cover of Time! When was the last time you saw a writer (and a female one) on the cover?? For anyone who has ever read anything of Atwood’s and liked it – I highly recommend The Testaments.

September 13, 2019 at 1:58 pmI read the article on Kara Swisher. Wow! She is one of the most annoying people I have ever come across! Talk about being impressed with yourself…I don’t care how smart or accomplished she is…I have no patience for people who think they are better than everyone else…she doesn’t just think it…she says it!
