1. Sharing a great sale item- this chunky cashmere sweater, from Mansur Gavriel, now 60% off.
This sweater is perfecto. Thick and luscious cashmere, dropped shoulders (which I love), and that thick rib trim. Ahh! I have been stalking the product page for my size to re-appear, which it hasn’t, and neither has this coat (also an excellent 60% off. I haven’t looked at MG bags for some time but for some reason I’ve really loved their clothes.
2. A great piece, via The NY Times – Can The Real Real Save Retail? I have been using The Real Real. I’m a fan. Post upcoming.
3. A really interesting article from Fashionista – What Is The Future of “Fashion Editor” As A Career? Do you read any traditional fashion sites online anymore? And do you follow any editors on IG? I follow Laurel Pantin and think she’s great.
4. And on that theme, a follow up piece via The Guardian, about how the Kardashians have changed fashion. I’m totally a fuddy duddy but the last two articles kind of depressed me.
5. This week, I finished Pastoralia, by George Saunders.
Pastoralia is a collection of six stories, all excellent, the sort that as a reader kept me engaged and interested and as a writer filled me with great envy. I don’t think I’m really doing justice in my description – some of the best short stories that I’ve ever read, a few which have kept me thinking long after I finished. Funny, dark, with a touch of macabre fantasy at times – if you like short stories, if you like great writing, I highly recommend Pastoralia.

February 1, 2019 at 8:22 pmI have saw a Chanel jacket recently on TRR, a beige tweed one from maybe 2015 that I know you have, and I have the same one. When I saw it my first thought was, I wonder if it’s hers!
