1. Hello it’s me, your friendly neighborhood sale shopper. This week I’m sharing these great pumps, via Gianvito Rossi, now 50% off.
I wonder if shoe designers are sad SATC ended. Ever since then I feel like there are way more designer shoes that make it on sale. Don’t you think? When it comes to designer shoes I almost almost buy on sale nowadays (except for very specific items, like those classic Chanel slingbacks). These pumps are a perfect color and shape and if the heel is too low for you, check out the selection of the classic 85mm version (that green suede! That lemon yellow!)
2. A fun fashion article, via Net-A-Porter, with tips on style from Camille Charriere. I’ve never heard of her, not that that is any sort of qualifier, since I’m super out of it.
3. My favorite piece to share with you this week! This fascinating article, via the NY Times, about a very litigious bikini maker. Read this please! Amazing.
4. An incredible article via The Atlantic about how some social media influencers are faking sponsored content. Darn it, now my plan to fake Hermes gifting me Kelly bags will never take off! You know what I always think about? How some of the people I follow on IG have really lazy sponsored content (these I tend to mute after a while) and some have really thoughtful, intricately crafted content, sponsored or not. Alice Gao is an example of the latter; you can tell as a creative she puts a ton of thought and effort into her posts.
5. This week, I read Life After Life, by Kate Atkinson.
Believe it or not (for the heavy readers) – this was my first Kate Atkinson book! And what a good book it was. I can’t even really describe it though I’ll try – a young woman growing up in the WWI/WWII years keeps living life over and over again, until she “gets it right”. Very profound and so well written, I highly recommend Life After Life.

December 28, 2018 at 12:45 pmI loved Life After Life and could have cheerfully read several hundred pages more of her adventures. I enjoyed watching how her and others’ choices changed her path, how she had so many potential paths, and how it began to come together for her.

December 29, 2018 at 4:49 pmI confess that I only buy designer shoes when they go on sale. I’m super excited with the savings during summer and winter sale. They are only 6 months apart and I’m happy waiting.
Looking forward to a holiday post. Meantime, have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Katherine.

January 5, 2019 at 8:59 pmI only buy designer shoes on sale too. I think designer shoes have reached a peak… shoes aren’t like handbags, that you can keep forever and pass on to your kids. The only shoes I’ve ever off being passed on are wedding shoes, and usually for sentimental reasons and not for use. I wonder how long the prices will stay in the stratosphere but the era of $1000 won’t last long… (or so i hope)
