Now comes the time of the year when I share some of my favorite items of 2018. When I put together this list, one theme became clear – utility. My favorite items this year were definitely all about comfort, getting good use, and being easy to use. Usually I have at least one “crazy fun purchase” like but this year I didn’t really! Next year one of my goals is to have some more fun
Hermes TPM Evelyne. I don’t know why it took me so long to try this bag but it is awesome. One of the best that Hermes makes in my opinion. You can find them here and other resale sites if you need immediate gratification but my tip is just to go to Hermes directly and check back multiple times (a day, sorry) to snag one. I just ordered another this way!
Everlane Day Boots. Reviewed just last week – one of those purchases where you’re like, “how did I survive so long without these in my life”. Especially since I’ve been in a black hole and just discovered the cropped pants + short boots combination and it is so easy and good!
Everlane Day Heel Mules. OK I feel like I’ve mentioned these too many times but they are a favorite so just putting them here. They are so comfortable and I even made them work for winter by wearing them with tights. I yap and yap and they are still on sale and available (but slowly selling through). Reviewed here.
Madewell Canvas Transport Tote. Here’s the thing about designer mommy totes – I love them and I think it’s fabulous when there’s a mother swinging her croc bag around the stroller and casually wiping off spilled apple juice off her white Kelly or something but that really isn’t me, I’m not precious about my items but I also don’t like to see them destroyed. The canvas tote has been great and also a wonderful travel companion. Reviewed here.
Uniqlo Heattech. I think because I’m in California, I’d always had a “I’ll try it later” attitude to Uniqlo Heattech. I love Uniqlo. Then, I tried a few items and now I am hooked. My favorites include the socks, the leggings (which are not to be worn on their own – I use them under pants and skirts) and the ultra warm crewneck tees.
What were some of your favorites this year? Did you have a “theme”?

December 17, 2018 at 2:31 pmMy theme this year was, and remains, clutches. I have kept most of my BV totes and crossbodys, mostly out of the fear that clutches will be over for me and I won’t have any bags to use at all. But clutches have been my “It” style most of this year.

December 17, 2018 at 7:24 pmI’m surprised your littles ones don’t take stuff out of your mini Evelyn. As soon as my son figured out there were keys in there I had to stop using it!

December 18, 2018 at 10:22 amFor the heat tech – do you wear the shirts on their own or under something? I’m going to Montreal for Christmas and am thinking of buying one or two. I’m 21 weeks pregnant and at the point of pregnancy where nothing fits but I don’t really look pregnant. ? but maybe the heat tech leggings would be good to wear under pants. Could you wear them under leggings?

December 18, 2018 at 1:09 pmOoh! I don’t wear them under leggings but I do wear them under pants and skirts. You might be able to try legging on legging but I would worry that it would be too constricting. I wear the shirts on their own but under a sweater, etc.
