Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Uniqlo. Forget H&M, Zara, Forever 21 – for inexpensive basics, I’ve been heading straight to Uniqlo. This is not a sponsored post by the way – I just realized that I’ve been placing so many orders, and getting such good use out of my Uniqlo items, that I thought I’d share some of my favorite pieces!
Milano ribbed skirt, $15. I’ve gone a bit crazy over midi/long skirts lately. I always knew skirts were more comfortable than pants, which is why I spend most of the summer in dresses and shorts, but always defaulted back to pants in winter, due to the cold. Because I’d always worn shorter skirts, you see….having been told that as a petite person, I needed to keep things at knee length or above.
Well, maybe I’m just older and care less, but I’m all about the longer skirts these days. They cover up, keep you warm, and you never have to worry about bending over. I love this skirt, the perfect weight for fall. And the price!
By the way, as this went on sale, they’re almost sold out, in which case check out the:
Felted long skirt: More or less the same straight cut as the Milano ribbed above, but a heavier, fuzzy fabric. I bought black and can’t wait to wear it with tights in winter. I’d buy more colors of both styles if they had them in stock!
Flare wide pants: $15. I have to warn you, that these pants are not my husband’s favorite. He barely found them acceptable when he thought they were a skirt, and once I started walking and he realized they were actually pants? Not the pants you wear out to the bar to go man hunting, ladies. But I love them. They are so comfortable, don’t wrinkle easily, have pockets, and I just love the flowy feeling when I’m walking around in them, I think it’s a very chic feeling. Totally worth it, especially for the sale price – these would be the most comfortable work pants you could buy I think.
Since going on sale, these have been going fast, so I’d also check out the:
Milano ribbed wide pants, $20. These are in the mail on their way to me. They don’t have the same illusion of a skirt as the flare pants above, but I love the ribbed material, stretchy waistband, and yup – pockets again!
Not pictured, but a few other favorites:
Women’s draped long sleeve t-shirt, $15. The perfect t-shirt over leggings. Excellent quality, nice length, comfortable material…what else could you ask for?
House slippers, $15. Not the sexiest, but warm and a fantastic price. I toss out my winter slippers each year, so I don’t need very pricey versions. I’m a 6.5 US women’s and I bought a size medium.
Ultra light down vest, $50. I wear this vest all the time, I’m going to get another color this year. The perfect extra layer to add. Wonderful quality. Size up (I wear a XS but I’d take even a Small if I wanted to fit a bulky layer underneath).
Have you tried Uniqlo? Please share some of your recommendations and favorite items if so!

November 14, 2016 at 2:29 pmYes, I love uniqlo 🙂
I just bought grey and navy cashmere crewneck sweaters from them. Both are good basics that I’m not afraid to ruin because they’re so (comparatively) cheap. I have a few everlane cashmere crewnecks as well (I wear a crewneck everyday in the winter, haha) and I like the uniqlo cut a bit better.
I also love their underwear and camisoles for wearing under cashmere/wool in the winter. In the summer, I really like their linen tees.

November 14, 2016 at 4:43 pmI always go to Uniqlo when I buy shirts for hubby, maybe I should also go to the women’s section. The pieces you showed look nice and comfy. The good thing I find in the shop is there’s no long queue in the counter unlike Zara and H&M so this is a bonus.

November 14, 2016 at 5:29 pmCurrently my closet is almost 50% Uniqlo X-D
I loooove their Heattech tops. They are my go-to under sweaters, especially tight ones. Since Heattech tops are thin and “slippery”, anything you put over them slides right on. Can’t tell you how much I value not having to struggle with my clothes in the winter. And they are warm!
I love their down jackets too. Own them in 3 colors :-). And anything from their Ines De La Fressange collections. I got an awesome cashmere scarf from her line a few years back.

November 15, 2016 at 4:11 pmI am a huge fan of the Uniqlo Ultra Light Down coats for traveling. They stuff into little bags that are easy to tuck into your carry on-leaving you free from dealing with a big winter coat.

November 16, 2016 at 9:02 amI find that Japan and especially Tokyo ladies LOVE Uniqlo. Its simple and easy to wear. Sometimes I think we get so excited about the price we think we need everything. One thing I would not recommend is their cashmere jumpers. Its poor quality and gets ”bubbles” after few wears.

November 16, 2016 at 12:20 pmI can see why they love it! Thanks for the feedback on the cashmere – I hadn’t tried it yet!

November 16, 2016 at 2:13 pmHi Kat,
My boys are obsessed with Uniqlo! We just recently went to Hong Kong and Japan (Okinawa) and realized that Uniqlo is more expensive in Japan than in Hong Kong. Isn’t that weird?

November 20, 2016 at 10:54 amI just came back from Japan and HK and noticed the pricing in HK was less. Must be due to the currency exchange.

November 16, 2016 at 8:46 pmLove the pants you picked! My hubby loves wearing Uniqlo cotton sweaters – they are so soft and durable. I bought a few parka and bomber jackets for my son as well. On a sidenote, their women’s seamless underwear is great too 😛

November 18, 2016 at 11:04 amI LOVE LOVE LOVE UNIQLO for their occasional printed tees, plain simple tees and above all, their jeggings! I could not go back to regular jeans after wearing their jeggings 🙂
I get Heatech and Airism undershirts for my girls all year round. My husband likes their undershirts, underpants and socks as well. Men’s basic shirts and khaki pants are pretty decent too.
I have to be careful with their printed stuff for both adults and kids as it is easily recognizable *oops*
