The Chanel Jacket

I wanted to share with you all a new purchase of mine – an older Chanel tweed moto jacket which I have been lusting after for a year.

I first saw this jacket on Kate Moss at an event – like everybody else in the universe I love her and think she is one of the most stylish women on the planet. I’m not usually someone who finds personal style inspiration from celebrities (because generally they are taller and hotter than me), but Kate Moss is definitely an exception – I would wear almost every piece of clothing she has!

Beautiful Kate

So I finally found the jacket above, albeit in a larger size, and was able to alter it down to fit me – FYI while doing my research on alterations, I found out that you can tailor most Chanel jackets up or down two sizes – they are constructed to be able to be altered in such a way! So if you find a great one on sale and it’s not your size, it may still be worth it to purchase.

The buttons and metal trim that was sewn into the jacket everywhere

Silk camellia lining

Metal chain at hem – if you alter a Chanel jacket, don’t cut this part!

I adore my new jacket and am so excited to wear it – I can’t believe I found it after all this time…

Do you all have items that you lusted after for super long, and then finally found after you had given up? I’d love to know!

    Beautiful find!
    Congratulations!!!

    Which collection is it from?
Where do you normally find older Chanel jackets?

I have this Chanel coat that I inherited from my mother but it is 2 size bigger for me and have been thinking what to do with it. I am glad to know that I can probably alter it to my size!! Thank you so much for your kind tips.

This jacket is so beautiful. I love all the details that appear when you take a closer look, almost like it reveals its fabulouness slowly.
I have lusted after many things, but really the one that has been on my list longest is a perfectly tailored tuxedo/suit. I think it is such a sexy look on woman. I will invest in one in the future, for sure.

Snap! Can't believe I've also got my (new to me) Chanel jacket this weekend too! Actually it's part of a skirt suit and I am totally, totally in love with both.

Yours is simply gorgeous and can't wait to see some outfit photos next. Thank you so much for the tip on alterations, will definately keep that in mind for the future.

This jacket's design is more youthful, modern and different than most Chanel jackets I have seen. I like the cut and how slim fitting it looks on Kate Moss. It would look great with a pencil skirt or a pair of jeans too. Great choice, glad you found it.

    1. LOVE How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. A bit predictable, but one of the better rom coms that's done so RIGHT.

    2. LOVE the jacket! Serious envy. Looks great on Kate Moss, and I'm sure it will look absolutely wonderful on you too. Can't wait to see it in action!

I absolutely adore that jacket! 🙂 The elusive item that I've been looking everywhere for, for under $150, is a wool cloche hat, I'm pretty much in love with them.

That is so awesome that you made your husband watch How to Lose a Guy. 😀 I just got married 2 months ago myself and am SO looking forward to those special moments together, haha.

Lovely jacket! I agree with you about being able to alter them two sizes. Before I knew this, I tried on a GORGEOUS tweed jacket on sale at Chanel Paris eons ago. It was a bit tight so I didn't get it. I so, so, so regret it until now. I guess the SA should have told me … well, I guess she was too busy with the sales and I was just a tourist.
