This week I want to try out a series of collectively posting some of my favorite links and finds on a periodic basis. I read lots and lots of random articles all day (and annoy my friends, family and husband by constantly emailing them out). I thought I would pick out my favorites, along with a few other finds, and share them with you as part of a weekend update. Would love to hear your thoughts!
1. My favorite fashion article I’ve read this week, which is actually from last but had to include it: Cathy Horyn’s article in the NY Times about Armani’s thoughts on a successor and some interesting and perhaps snarky (anonymous) quotes about how his design has evolved.
2. I love this picture because it shows how a single statement watch can really spice up an outfit of just a white tee and jeans. I tend to find a lot of jewelry fussy, especially stacks of bracelets because I type a lot and they clank around. I always wear a watch however, and though I alternate between a few my favorite is my men’s Rolex, it’s functional and I like the size.
The king of oversized watches is of course Michael Kors for good reason – a reasonable price, and cool designs. At the same price point however, my favorite options are actually from Kate Spade and Nixon.
3. Adored this piece in the Guardian about the routines of the world’s most creative people (hint: take walks!). I’ve been taking a few evening strolls and while no creative lightbulbs have been turning on, it’s become one of my favorite times each day.
4. New book alert: did you know that the new Bridget Jones installment finally came out? I bought it and am halfway through. I have to say as a huge Bridget fan (both of the first two books and the first movie), I was a quite a bit disappointed by this one. But still a fun read and the character is so beloved that I’m sure many of you might want to catch up.
PS: Did you know that she is supposed to be 50 years old on the cover? What do you think?
Have a wonderful weekend!

October 25, 2013 at 9:11 amGood morning, Kat! I like this idea a lot – how do you find time to read??? I can’t even finish 1 magazine within a week and I’m only able to read 2 pages of a book at night before falling asleep:)) PS – I think what makes this outfit/picture look good is the colors of items/cuts/perfect skin/ and ( for me!) blonde hair:) I do, of course, agree that 1 statement watch can make the whole outfit but in this particular case, I think everything makes it as much as the watch itself.. i’m still sleeping so hopefully you understand what I”m trying to say here:) Have a good weeknd!!

October 25, 2013 at 10:22 amYou are right about the picture – I think that rose gold does work perfectly with the model’s skin – great point!
I try to read as much as possible but like you I find myself falling asleep after a few pages at night 🙂 I try to sit down and read around 8-9PM each night for maybe half an hour or an hour 🙂
