I have been a very bad girl lately with the shopping, and made a vow a few weeks ago that I was not going to buy any more expensive items for a while. However I wasn’t taking into account Mr. Feather, who I suspect was slightly fearful for his life after sitting idly in front of the TV for days while I solely slaved over and addressed 80+ wedding thank you cards.I really wanted this Chanel cardigan and had noted it down on my little “winter season lust” list. He found it and surprised me a little while ago after I had a stressful day at work and was ripping open a pack of my favorite Korean ramen (Shin for the win!). I’m not sure if you can put a price on my hand cramps after writing about 85 thank you cards in a row, but if you can, the currency should be Chanel!
Black cashmere cardigan with white frayed edging – I love the little dark wood buttons and their etched metal edging.

September 13, 2011 at 12:44 pmI am so so bad. Have not written thank you cards yet for my may wedding and we only have 24 guests! Yikes.
Maybe if I had a chanel jacket waiting at the end of it for me, that would give me more motivation? Heheheh.
Anyway, beautiful jacket! I would pair it with plain white tee, skinny or trouser jeans, and heels or a pair of ballerina flats.

TRY IT and tell me the result!!

September 13, 2011 at 1:19 pmBEAUTIFUL you lucky girl! What a sweet Mr. Feather!!
Maybe you can pair it with a tee, shorts, and heeled booties. (I've been trying to change it up with my blazers/ cardigans like that.)
Or you can try a tee, skinny jeans, and ballet flats (and throw on you VCA necklace)!

September 13, 2011 at 1:28 pmJust beautiful. I'm thinking along the same lines as vanda & Lindsay: I would go with skinny jeans, high heels, and the simplest white tee. Enjoy!

September 13, 2011 at 1:40 pmGorgeous!! Skinny jeans/pants layered with slightly loose tee/blouse that is longer than the jacket + high-heeled pumps.

September 13, 2011 at 2:55 pmOhh but it is so gorgeous!! You're allowed to be a bad girl shopper when the result is Chanel 🙂 🙂 And it was a gift!

September 13, 2011 at 3:33 pmOh that is such a great cardigan- I am wrapping up reading The Gospel According to Chanel- so its great timing that your recent posts have been Chanel related. I think pops of color always help add a youthful feel to any outfit, but really this is a can't fail piece- if you decided to go classic chanel with ropes of pearls and white shirt- you wouldn't look momish- you'd look super chic (jeans on the bottom will help keep it modern too)

September 13, 2011 at 3:47 pmdark colored skinny jeans or straight leg jeans. but really, you can dress up or down w/ this cardigan easily.

September 13, 2011 at 3:51 pmLove the cardigan. 85 thank yous would be considered a small wedding. Every wedding I had this summer has been at least 300 guests. My own wedding is hovering at 325 with thank yous going to each one.

September 13, 2011 at 5:52 pmBoy, does Mr Feather know how to win brownie points or what? The man is smart! I'm just sitting here drooling over your Chanel cardigan. I doubt you'll look like a middle aged woman wearing this. Pair it with a simple plain tee and jeans with ballet flats or heels. Or your new Dicker boots.

September 13, 2011 at 11:57 pmI had to write about 50 thank you cards for my graduation party. I thought it would never end. I love your blog. Also i read the entire article about Chanel and Warren Buffet. The idea that fashion is bad investment is so fascinating.
stylish with a budget
September 14, 2011 at 12:25 ampair it with something bordeaux, or leather….
can't wait for some modeling pix.

September 14, 2011 at 12:35 amreply: the ELF eyeliner pens are a good/ cheap alternative to drugstore/ department store eyeliner pens. The fact that they're so cheap makes it a good eyeliner to use and replace as soon as they're no longer as sharp/ pigmented as you'd like. It's tip is the same as a felt tip marker which may be a little hard for those w/ sensitive eyes.

What a beautiful sweater – but what is even lovelier than the cardigan is that you have such a thoughtful DH 🙂

September 14, 2011 at 1:52 amYay Katherine- the more Chanel, the better 🙂 I can picture this cardigan with a pair of skinny jeans and heels for a daytime chic look, and over a sexy dress during date night. I never sent out thank you notes for my wedding (I know, the horror) but I would have handwritten two hundred of them if I knew that a Chanel anything would be at stake 🙂
