1. Today I want to share a Michael Kors dress I recently tried on that I really like – it would be super flattering I imagine to a variety of figures, and would work both for work and play! Plus, it even has petite sizes!
I didn’t end up taking it from the store, but ordered one at home yesterday so I could get a petite size. I hope it’s exactly the same, just a wee bit smaller.
2. Who doesn’t like to save money while traveling? I’ve written about the topic before, and also enjoyed reading this article, via the WSJ, about some “tricks for traveling cheaply”.
3. I’ve been thinking about adding a new piece of jewelry lately, and just to torture myself ended up looking at all kinds of images of beautiful JAR creations.
My searches led me to this great interview, via the FT, with Joel Arthur Rosenthal himself. However from there, I also found this very interesting article via Jewels du Jour, about all of the jewelers which have inspired JAR. Two great pieces to read, especailly for jewelry fans!
4. Does anyone else watch and love Veep? This is one of my favorite new shoes of the last few years. Plus who doesn’t love Julia Louis-Dreyfus? She’s one of my favorite actresses and I’m very happy to see her success with this great show.
For fans, I wanted to share this fun promotional video that was done for Veep (with some major political cameos!). Enjoy!
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!

May 9, 2014 at 8:32 amJAR has been considered a high-grade investment as far as jewels are concerned. His designs are unusual and whimsical, but I think there have been many knockoffs over the years. I’ve seen other jewelers replicate his style. There’s this whole other thing of only being able to order a piece if you have a friend who’s already his client and if he likes you. If I ever have the financial ability I think I’ll just buy his pieces from an auction. I dealt with enough “are you good enough for our products” attitude from Hermes.

May 9, 2014 at 10:31 amI love A’s comment above–hilarious, cringe-worthy, and true! You would’ve loved the ‘Jewels by JAR’ show that was at the Met over the winter. It was a gorgeous exhibit and since seeing it I have had pave on the brain, though not necessarily by JAR, more like something for every day wear. I feel a trip to Cartier and Tiffany coming on! Have a great weekend and thanks for the interview links, I will have to read both.

May 9, 2014 at 8:41 pmI had never heard of JAR until we saw the amazing exhibit at the NYMoMA…and wow, oh wow. Over 500 of his pieces were on loan; unfortunately we were not permitted to take any photos. Thanks for the informative articles and can’t wait to see you post the dress!
