Lately I’ve been sharing items that I’ve been adding to my shopping wishlist. This week however, I want to share something that I’ve owned for quite some time and really enjoy wearing. It’s this wonderful “Fiji” bracelet, by Monica Vinader, that was a gift from the lovely J.
I’ve worn it everyday and really like pairing it with my old Cartier rose gold cuff, the two move nicely with each other.
I’ve worn the bracelet almost everyday since I received it in December, and it’s holding up nicely. I even love to play with the little cord, pushing the metal toggles back and forth, especially when I’m bored in meetings (!) and it’s still pristine! Really recommended and a nicely priced piece too, that you can wear everyday. I’ve already given another one of these to a friend, who loves hers too!
2.A very old article but one that I find still worthy of sharing – one of my favorite movie reviews of all time, by Roger Ebert, giving a well deserved written lashing of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. My husband made me watch this movie with him as one of our first dates and to this date I still bring it up. I can forgive, but will never forget!

3. Since I was just witness to a quite long, methodical United boarding process where carry-on bags were carefully checked that they actually fit the sizer (when was the last time you saw that happen in the U.S.?), I thought this article came at a very convenient time: New York Times’ Frugal Traveler recommending their picks for the best carry on bag.
By the way – my favorite, no fuss and super light weight luggage options continue to be a LeSportsac duffle, coupled with a Longchamp Le Pliage.
4. This week I’m recommending a book about fashion – the business of fashion, and how marketing has evolved the industry.
The book is The End of Fashion, by Teri Agins, and it’s a fascinating read for not just those interested in fashion, but also business/marketing in general. It might make you feel differently the next time you go pick out a Donna Karen gown. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this book – either having already read it, or once you do!

April 18, 2014 at 8:07 amGreat, I happen to be looking into replacing my beat up carry on roller. So you don’t use a roller and use the LeSportSac duffles instead? Doesn’t it bug you to have to carry it around from your shoulder during connections?

April 18, 2014 at 9:58 amI do use a roller, thank you for reminding me – my favorite is my Globe Trotter but it isn’t the most practical for a biz traveler so I don’t recommend it for that 🙂 For my biz travel I use a boring Tumi carryon:

April 18, 2014 at 3:09 pmDo you use your Longchamp Le Pliage to carry your laptop on biz travel? I’m currently using a Samsonite Xenon 2 backpack but 1) it’s huge and not attarctive, 2) it’s fraying and it’s barely a year old (read it’s a common problem).
I do have a large Michael Kors Kempton, but it is still too tight on my 14 inch laptop. Makes me not want to use it.

April 18, 2014 at 3:15 pmI do, I put my laptop in a sleeve (I buy mine from http://www.sfbags.com/), and then put it in my Le Pliage. Still lots of room left for other goodies including a full sized handbag in the flight.
